“The State of Israel has been founded, and it has been founded ‘only thus’ [‘Only Thus’ was the slogan of the Irgun]: with blood and fire, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, with suffering and sacrifice,” Begin says in the recording. “The Hebrew army can and must be one of the best-trained and excellent armies in the world… what is the spirit of our fighters? This was shown by all of the Hebrew youth, the youth of the Haganah, of Lehi and of the Irgun… the likes of which no generation in the generations of Israel, from Bar-Kokhba to the Bilu’im, had ever seen;”
“Heroic daughter of Israel, who shall tell of your heroism? For we have known your tears in the night… Hannah and her seven sons is no longer a legend, you are Hannah, thousands of Hannahs…”, Begin continues. “This mighty event has transpired after seventy generations, seventy generations of dispersion, disarmament, enslavement, of endless wandering and persecution…”

Rare Recording Of Menachem Begin Announcing State of Israel Unearthed
by Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz for breakingisraelnews.com, October 19, 2018
The speech was first broadcast on Saturday night, May 14, 1948; one day after the establishment of the State of Israel. Begin delivered the speech on the underground radio station of the Irgun, “Kol Tzion HaLochemet” (“Voice of Fighting Zion.”)
In this speech, which constitutes a kind of alternative “Declaration of Independence” instead of the one delivered by Israel’s first prime minister David Ben-Gurion, Begin addresses the dismantling of the paramilitary groups, the need for a strong and well-trained army, the essential foreign policy with the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R., repatriation of Jews, and more.

Strip’s Hamas rulers said to be attempting to tamp down on weekly border riots, after Jerusalem says it will step up response to renewed violence following Wednesday rocket attack.
Israel and Gaza were girding for a possible return to violence Friday, amid fears that renewed border protests could push the sides back to the brink of war after a brief violent flareup days earlier.
Israeli troops were readying for weekly border protests Friday that have turned deadly in the past, with the day being seen as a key test in whether the sides can continue negotiating a long-term ceasefire deal as part of an Egyptian-led effort.
‘Full of lies’ – Netanyahu slams anti-IDF activist’s speech at UN
by WIN Staff for WorldIsraelNews.com, October 19, 2018
Netanyahu condemned statements by B’Tselem’s Hagai El-Ad before the UN Security Council as “an attempt to help Israel’s enemies.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed Hagai El-Ad and the anti-IDF organization he leads, B’Tselem, following El-Ad’s speech at the United Nations Security Council on Thursday.
In the address, El-Ad vilified the Jewish state’s policies toward the Palestinians, comparing Israeli policy to South Africa’s apartheid regime and the US’ Jim Crow laws, a popular tactic among anti-Israel activists.
“B’Tselem’s conduct is a disgrace that will be remembered as a short and temporary episode in our nation’s history,” Netanyahu responded.

As more foreign fighters return from the ISIS battlefields to their home countries and face possible prosecution and imprisonment, the European Union continues to wrestle with how to deal with Islamic radicalization within its prisons.
American policymakers need to pay attention because it’s a challenge we face, too.
“We found a lot of people that maybe weren’t convicted on terror-related charges were radicalizing in the prison systems,” U.S. Rep. Mike McCaul said last month. “I think the Bureau of Prisons needs a program to ensure that radicalization is not taking place because it is.”
A recent investigation by Spanish counter terrorism officials uncovered a jihadi recruitment network operating inside 17 of its prisons. The group recruited and radicalized new inmate converts and planned to carry out several attacks when some of its members were released.
Arab-American in PA Jail for Selling Home to Jews

Palestinian Authority security forces recently arrested an American citizen of Arab origin for brokering a real estate deal transferring a home in eastern Jerusalem to Jewish buyers, The Jerusalem Post reported Thursday evening. US officials confirmed the arrest and said the State Dept. has already contacted the PA to make sure the man, a resident of Bethlehem, is being treated in keeping with international law.
An Arab source told the Post that the man received $25,000 for arranging the sale of a house in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City. In early October, Jewish families moved into the Joudeh family house near the Temple Mount, according to the Post, and in response the PA launched a commission of inquiry to investigate how the house had fallen into Jewish hands.
