Peres endorses US plan to arm Syrian rebels

In an interview with Reuters on the sidelines of his 90th birthday party Monday, Israeli President Shimon Peres endorsed a recent decision by US President Barak Obama to arm rebel factions in Syria. But Assad himself told the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in an interview published on Tuesday that the West would regret arming rebel factions battling his regime.

Obama Threatens Veto of Religious Protection for Military
